Sony Xperia S gets included in Android Open Source Project; Bootloader unlocked

Sony mobile's flagship smartphone Sony Xperia S has been included in Android Open Source Project by Google. This means that Xperia S owners can enjoy vanilla Android on their mobile. This means a nexus like treatment and timely updates as well as the feel of stock Android experience. Xperia S is the only non-Nexus device which has been awarded with this honor.

Sony has welcomed this news and has posted the guide to unlock the Xperia S bootloader on their website.
This has helped the modding community a lot. There is some great work going on at xda-developers, one member letama has created a boot manager for the Sony Xperia S that would in theory allow you to multi-boot different firmware. Which means multiple OSs can be loaded into ROM at the same time, and it will only take a restart to switch between operating systems.

Sony Xperia S packs a Snapdragon S3 dual core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 1GB RAM, 32 GB SDD, 4.3" HD display. For specifications of the gorgeous smartphone, click here.
